此 (cǐ) is a formal, literary pronoun meaning 'this' or 'these', used in writing and set phrases (e.g., 因此, 此外). In everyday speech, use 这 (zhè) instead. It is more concise than 这个 or 这些 and often appears in fixed expressions.
