Definition
正经 describes a person's character as proper, decent, and morally upright, or an attitude/matter as serious and earnest. Compared to 体面 (presentable) and 像样 (up to standard), 正经 emphasizes inner moral integrity rather than outward appearance. Unlike 认真 (conscientious) and 严肃 (solemn), 正经 carries a sense of social propriety and honor.
