模特儿 (mó tè r) is a loanword for a person who models clothing or poses for art. Unlike 模型 (mó xíng), which is a physical replica or abstract model, and 模范 (mó fàn), which is a role model or exemplary person, 模特儿 refers specifically to a fashion or art model.
