树林 (shùlín) refers to a 'woods' or small forest, often planted or naturally occurring near human habitation. It is smaller and less wild than 森林 (sēnlín 'natural forest', HSK4), and unlike 丛林 (cónglín 'jungle, dense thicket', HSK7), it is not typically tropical or impenetrable.
