Definition
松手 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to let go' or 'to release one's grip'. The verb 松 ('loosen') and the noun 手 ('hand') can split: when you add aspect markers like 了, 过, or a complement like 一下, insert them between the two characters — e.g. 松了手 ('let go'), 松过手 ('have let go'). You cannot put a direct object after 松手; instead say 松开手 or use a structure like '对…松手'.
