Definition
条条 is the reduplicated form of the classifier 条 (used for long, thin objects: roads, rivers, lines, rules). Reduplicating a classifier turns it into an adverbial or adjectival phrase meaning 'every' or 'each and every', emphasizing that all items of that kind are included. For example, 条条大路通罗马 means 'every road leads to Rome' — all options work. This pattern also works with other classifiers: 个个 (each person), 张张 (every sheet). Be careful: the reduplicated classifier never takes a number before it.
r.f.
