Definition
杀 (shā) is the general verb for 'to kill' — it covers killing by any means, from stabbing to execution. It's more direct and colloquial than 杀害 (shā hài), which specifically means 'to murder' (intentional, unlawful killing). In bargaining, 杀 also means 'to reduce' a price.
