Definition
曲折 (qūzhé) describes something that is physically winding (roads, paths) or figuratively full of twists and turns (experiences, plots). It differs from 弯曲 (wānqū), which is purely physical 'curved, bent', and from 复杂 (fùzá), which means 'complex' without the sense of unexpected turns.
