明喻 is a rhetorical term for 'simile' — a figure of speech that makes an explicit comparison between two unlike things using a word like 像, 好像, 如同, or 仿佛. Unlike 暗喻 ('metaphor'), 明喻 always includes a marker of comparison. You'll encounter it in literary analysis and writing classes.
