Definition
无名 is an attributive adjective (定语) meaning 'nameless' or 'unknown'. It can refer literally to someone or something whose name is not known (无名英雄 'unknown hero'), or more abstractly to an indescribable, hard-to-define quality (无名的恐惧 'nameless fear'). It must always appear before the noun it modifies, and cannot be used as a predicate with 是.
