Definition
新婚 is an attributive adjective (定语, attr.) meaning 'newly married', 'newlywed'. It can only be used before a noun to modify it — for example, 新婚夫妇 ('newlywed couple'), 新婚生活 ('newlywed life'), or 新婚礼物 ('wedding gift'). You cannot use it as a predicate (e.g., not *他们新婚, but rather 他们刚结婚). It's a common fixed expression for the period right after a wedding.
