改正 (gǎizhèng) is the everyday, general verb for 'to correct a mistake, error, or shortcoming'. 纠正 (jiūzhèng) is more formal and often used for correcting wrong behavior or opinions, while 更正 (gēngzhèng) is specific to correcting written errors in published statements or documents.
