Definition
收 (shōu) is a general verb for receiving, collecting, or putting things away. Unlike 收到 (shōu dào), which emphasizes the successful receipt of something, 收 is the action itself. For accepting offers or ideas, use 接受 (jiē shòu), not 收. For tidying up, 收拾 (shōu shi) is more specific.
