Definition
收购 (shōugòu) is a formal business verb for acquiring companies or purchasing goods in large quantities. It is more specific than 买 (mǎi) and 购买 (gòumǎi), which are general 'buy/purchase'. Unlike 采购 (cǎigòu 'procurement') or 收买 (shōumǎi 'bribe'), 收购 focuses on the transaction itself.
