收复 (shōu fù) specifically means to recover or recapture lost territory, land, or positions, often through military action. Unlike 恢复 (huī fù), which is used for general recovery of health, function, or a previous state, or 复原 (fù yuán), which means restoring something to its original condition, 收复 is almost exclusively used for regaining control of geographic or strategic areas.
