Definition
擒拿 is a martial arts term referring to a set of joint-locking, grappling, and controlling techniques used in Chinese martial arts (especially 擒拿术). It can also be used more generally to mean 'to capture' or 'to arrest' a person, often with a sense of physical restraint. The word is not used for everyday arrests (use 逮捕 instead); it carries a connotation of skilled, physical control.
