Definition
撞车 is a separable verb (离合词) with three related uses: literal vehicle collisions, time conflicts (schedules overlapping), and clashes of opinions or interests. As a 离合词, its two syllables 撞 and 车 can be separated when adding aspect markers, measure words, or modifiers — for example, 撞了一次车 (collided once) or 撞过车 (have had a clash).
