Definition
撒手 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to let go' physically or 'to give up' on a matter. When splitting, you insert particles or complements between the two syllables: 撒了手 (let go), 撒不开手 (can't let go). The person who gives up is the subject; the thing given up is usually introduced with 不管 or inferred from context.
