Definition
摈 (bìn) is a bound form (不能单独使用的语素) used in formal or literary compounds to express the idea of discarding, rejecting, or getting rid of something. It most commonly appears in words like 摈弃 (bìnqì, 'to abandon, discard') and 摈除 (bìnchú, 'to eliminate, get rid of'). You won't use 摈 alone; always attach it to a verb suffix.
