Definition
措 is a bound morpheme that cannot be used alone as a word. It appears in compounds with two main senses: (1) 'to arrange, to place' as in 措辞 (wording) and 措置 (dispose); (2) 'measure, move' as in 措施 (measure). The simple English gloss 'arrange' only captures part of its actual usage.
