Definition
推想 means 'to infer' or 'to conjecture based on reasoning' — you use it when you reach a conclusion from evidence or logic, not from pure imagination. It is more formal and grounded than 猜 (guess) and more tentative than 推断 (deduce). You often see it in academic or analytical contexts where the speaker is drawing a logical conclusion without absolute proof.
