Definition
掉转 means 'to turn around' and is most often used for vehicles making a U-turn or changing direction. You can also use it in abstract contexts, like suddenly changing a topic (掉转话题). It is a transitive verb that usually takes an object such as 车头 (front of a vehicle) or 方向 (direction).
