Definition
挚 (zhì) is a bound form (b.f.) — it never stands alone but always appears as part of a compound. It conveys a sense of deep sincerity, genuineness, or closeness. Common compounds include 真挚 (zhēnzhì, sincere), 挚爱 (zhì'ài, true love), and 挚友 (zhìyǒu, close friend). You cannot use 挚 by itself; it must attach to another character.
