Definition
按理 (àn lǐ) states what should logically happen, often implying the reality is different. It is very similar to 按说 (àn shuō), but 按理 emphasizes 'according to reason' while 按说 emphasizes 'according to what is said/expected'. 通常 (tōng cháng) is a more general 'usually' without this logical expectation.
