Definition
招兵 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to recruit soldiers' or more broadly 'to recruit new members for an organization'. The verb 招 and the object 兵 can split when inserting aspect markers, measure words, or duration: e.g. 招了兵 ('recruited soldiers'), 招过一次兵 ('recruited soldiers once').
