Definition
抽头 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning to take a cut or commission from a transaction, most commonly from gambling winnings. The verb 抽 ('to take a portion') separates from the noun 头 ('cut/proceeds') when you need to insert a measure word or object: 抽了三成头 ('took a 30% cut'). In electronics, 抽头 also means 'tap' (a connection point in a circuit), but this is a specialized technical sense — the gambling/commercial sense is far more common in everyday language.
