Definition
承保 is a verb used specifically from the perspective of an insurance company meaning 'to underwrite' or 'to assume insurance coverage'. It is the counterpart of 投保, which is what the policyholder does. You would say 保险公司承保 ('the insurance company underwrites the policy'), not 我承保这个房子.
