Definition
扶持 (fúchí) means to support in a way that sustains or fosters growth — often used for government policies supporting industries or physically helping someone who is weak. It is broader than 扶 (fú), which just means 'support with the hand / help up', and more focused on sustained aid than the general 帮助 (bāngzhù 'help').
