Definition
打滚 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to roll around or tumble (on the ground)'. It's used for people, animals, or objects physically rolling. Like many 离合词, 打 and 滚 can split when you add a measure word, aspect marker, or other elements between them — you often see patterns like 打了一个滚 ('rolled once'), 打着滚 ('while rolling'), or 打几下滚 ('roll a couple of times'). When unsplit, it behaves like a normal verb-object phrase.
