Definition
成片 is a verb used to describe a large number of things (buildings, crops, clouds, etc.) forming a continuous expanse or covering a broad area. You'll often see it as a predicate, e.g. 高楼成片 (skyscrapers stretch in a continuous area), or as a modifier before a noun, e.g. 成片的稻田 (vast stretches of rice paddies). It emphasizes the scale and density of the things being described.
