Definition
慰劳 (wèi láo) means to show appreciation and reward someone for their efforts or hard work, often with gifts or kind words. It differs from 安慰 (ān wèi 'to comfort, console'), which is for emotional support when someone is sad or upset, and from 慰问 (wèi wèn 'to express sympathy'), which is more formal and directed at those in difficulty or distress.
