感冒 (gǎnmào) is the common word for 'cold (illness)' and 'to catch a cold'. It differs from 着凉 (zháoliáng, HSK5), which emphasizes 'catching a chill' that may lead to a cold. In colloquial speech, 感冒 is also used in the negative (不感冒) to mean 'not interested in', which is milder than 受不了 (shòubuliǎo, HSK4) 'can't stand'.
