意料 (yì liào) is used mainly in the set phrases 出乎意料 'unexpectedly' and 意料之中 'as expected', rather than as a standalone verb. As a verb, it is similar to 预料 (yù liào, 'to predict/anticipate') but less common in everyday speech; 预期 (yù qī, 'to expect') is more formal and often used for planned outcomes. All three mean 'expect/anticipate', but 意料 is the most restricted in collocation.
