Definition
恙 is a bound form (b.f.) meaning 'illness' or 'misfortune'. It almost never appears alone in modern Chinese — you'll encounter it in the set phrase 别来无恙 ('have you been well since we last met?') and the formal greeting 无恙 ('safe and sound'). Outside of these fixed expressions, it's not used productively.
