Definition
心 (xīn) covers the physical heart, the mind/heart of emotions and thoughts, and the core of an object. For the organ, 心脏 (xīnzàng) is the precise term; 心 is broader. As 'center', 心 is for the inside of objects (e.g., cabbage heart), while 中心 (zhōngxīn) is for places or institutions.
