Definition
得罪 means 'to offend (someone)', often unintentionally through words or actions. It is less formal than 冒犯 (mào fàn), which implies a more deliberate or serious affront, and more interpersonal than 触犯 (chù fàn), used for violating laws or dignity. 得罪 can also be used as a polite apology ('sorry for any offense'), more formal than 不好意思.
