Definition
弑君 (shì jūn) is a separable verb-object compound (离合词) meaning 'to kill one's sovereign' — the act of regicide. It splits when inserting aspectual markers or measure words: you say 弑了君 ('committed regicide') or 弑过君 ('has committed regicide'), not 弑君了. This word is almost exclusively historical/political; modern Chinese uses 杀死君主 instead in ordinary contexts.
