开播 (kāi bō) is a separable verb (离合词) meaning to start broadcasting a TV series, program, or online show. The verb 开 and the object 播 can be separated by aspect markers (了/过) or measure words placed between them, e.g., 开了播 ('started broadcasting'), 开过两次播 ('started broadcasting twice'). The subject is the broadcaster, and the program being broadcast is usually introduced as a topic.
