Definition
廋 (sōu) is a bound form (黏着语素) that means 'to hide' or 'to conceal', but it's almost never used alone in modern Chinese. You'll mainly encounter it in literary or set expressions such as 廋语 ('riddle', literally 'hidden language'), 廋词 ('veiled words'), or 藏廋 ('to hide something'). It's much rarer than the everyday synonyms 藏 (cáng) or 隐藏 (yǐncáng).
