Definition
庆祝 means 'to celebrate' — it's the general verb for marking a happy occasion (a holiday, success, birthday) with some kind of activity. It differs from 过 (guò), which is used for celebrating a holiday in the sense of 'spending' it (过年 'celebrate New Year'), and from 祝贺 (zhùhè) / 恭喜 (gōngxǐ), which mean 'to congratulate' someone on their achievement.
