Definition
并未 is a formal negative adverb combining the emphatic 并 with the negative 未, meaning 'actually did not' or '(still) has not yet'. It is used in formal writing or speech to strongly deny that an action took place, often where a simpler 没有 would be less emphatic. It cannot be used with the perfective 了.
