年景 refers to the overall condition or quality of a particular year, most commonly used to describe how good or bad the harvest is (especially in farming contexts). It can also refer to the general economic or social atmosphere of a year, as in 'the times we are living in', and sometimes the festive ambience around the New Year (春节). As a noun, it often pairs with adjectives like 好 ('good') or 不好 ('poor').
