干爹 (gān diē) refers to a man who is not one's biological father but is recognized as a father figure through a ritualized nominal kinship relationship (拜干爹). This traditional practice creates a social bond for mutual support. In modern slang, especially online, 干爹 can also carry a derogatory meaning of a wealthy older man who financially supports a younger woman in exchange for a sexual relationship (sugar daddy).
