Definition
干活 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to work', often referring to manual or physical labor. When you add a time duration, result complement, or measure word, you split it: 干了两天活 (worked for two days), 干完活 (finish working). Never put an object after the whole word; instead separate it.
