Definition
干掉 is a colloquial resultative verb composed of 干 ('do, handle') and 掉 ('remove as complement'). It means 'to eliminate' — either literally killing someone or figuratively finishing food, a task, or an opponent. It's informal and carries a forceful tone. You often see it in the 把 construction: 把 + object + 干掉.
