Definition
带病 is a verb-object compound meaning 'to be carrying an illness'. It is almost always used as an adverbial before another verb (e.g. 带病工作 'work while ill'), expressing that the action continues despite being sick. As a separable verb (离合词), you can insert elements between 带 and 病 — the most common split is 带着病 ('carrying an illness'). Do not use 带病 as a standalone predicate for 'I am ill'; use 生病 instead.
