Definition
巨子 originally referred to the head of the Mohist school in ancient China. In modern usage, it's a formal noun meaning a magnate or leading figure in a specific field — someone with dominant influence (e.g. 商业巨子 'business tycoon'). It's not used in casual conversation and carries a respectful, literary tone.
