Definition
屋 is a bound form (b.f.) meaning 'house' or 'room' that cannot stand alone as a word. You must combine it with another character to form a complete word, such as 屋子 (wūzi, room), 房屋 (fángwū, house/building), or 屋顶 (wūdǐng, roof). It appears as the second element in many compound nouns.
