屈服 (qū fú) means 'to yield, submit, or surrender' — it emphasizes giving in to pressure, authority, or force, often reluctantly. Unlike 投降 (tóuxiáng), which is literal military surrender, 屈服 is broader and more figurative (e.g., yielding to life's pressures). 打败 (dǎ bài) and 战胜 (zhàn shèng) are the opposite — they mean 'to defeat'.
