Definition
尽义务 is a separable verb (离合词) that means to fulfill a duty or obligation. You can also use it to mean volunteering (working without pay). The verb 尽 separates from 义务 when adding aspect markers (了, 过) or measure words (次, 回), as in 尽了一次义务.
